The African Physics Education network (AfPEN) is a newly founded (2012) organisation under the auspices of The International Commission on Physics Education (ICPE) - Commission C14 of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) hosted and supported by the South African Institute of Physics (SAIP). IUPAP is an international non-governmental organization whose mission is to assist in the worldwide development of physics, to foster international cooperation in physics, and to help in the application of physics toward solving problems of concern to humanity.
